Alberta’s non-profit sector provides many essential services on which Albertans rely for their health, well-being, and valued quality of life. The Crowdfunding Alberta Program builds the resiliency of the sector by providing an opportunity for non-profit organizations to generate fast and flexible funding.
Established in 2021 by the Government of Alberta as part of the Creative Partnerships Alberta Program , Crowdfunding Alberta helps donors support projects that are meaningful to them and increases revenue for organizations to use where they need it most. Campaign top-up funding enables the Government of Alberta to provide organizations with a small grant alternative that eliminates complicated paperwork and makes Government of Alberta funding more broadly available.
Crowdfunding Alberta is one of several investment and capacity building programs introduced under Creative Partnerships Alberta with the intent to create a climate of social entrepreneurism. The ministry of Culture and Status of Women supports the Creative Partnerships Alberta's social finance and capacity building programs.
